Guitalele Tuning Compared To Ukulele and Guitar | 4K

In this short 4K video you’ll learn the string names to the guitarlele.

Learning the string names to the guitalele is simple whether your a ukulele or a guitar player.

If you a ukulele player, strings 1-4 are exactly the same as any soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele.

The strings are:
1st string – A
2nd string – E
3rd string – C
4th string – G

Then all you have to do is add the 2 low strings and you got a guitarlele.

5th string – D
6th string – A

If your a guitar player the tuning is exactly the same as a guitar except that everything is transposed up a 4th:

Guitar Tuning:
1st string – E
2nd string – B
3rd string – G
4th string – D
5th string – A
6th string – E

Guitarlele Tuning:
1st string – A
2nd string – E
3rd string – C
4th string – G
5th string – D
6th string – A

Another way to think about it is if you bar all 6 strings are the 5th fret of your guitar, you have the notes of a guitarlele.

Also, all your guitar chords will work as well on the guitarlele, except again everything will be transposed up a 4th.

So, a C chord on the guitar becomes an F chord on the guitarlele (up a 4th)

The G chord on the guitar becomes the C chord on the guitarlele (up a 4th).
